Estrada Creek, a small winery
with large
ambitions, is
producing wines of distinction at
affordable prices. Estrada
Creek’s style results in
accessible wines that appeal to
wine drinkers and neophytes
alike.
Brent Shortridge and Philip Zorn
established their partnership in
1999. The marriage of business
skills and winemaking expertise,
garnered in over twenty years
each in the wine business,
proved to be a winning
combination. With a large num-
ber of contacts throughout the
industry, we were able to
secure grapes on a long term ba-
sis from the leading California
wine growing regions, Napa,
Sonoma, Central Coast,
Monterey and Lodi. We created
Estrada Creek to provide
affordable wines that capture
the essence of California.
The current portfolio consists of
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon
Blanc and Old Vine Zinfandel. Current Vintages: 2010 Chardonnay, California |
| 2009 California CABERNET SAUVIGNON Our Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from vineyards which are selected for their intense fruit quality and firm tannins. The wine is aged in small oak barrels for 14 months, adding richness and complexity. Estrada Creek Cabernet Sauvignon is deep ruby in color with focused currant, blackberry and cracked pepper spice. The wine finishes with sweet smoke and a hint of vanilla. 2007 California OLD VINE ZINFANDELThe Zinfandel for this wine is sourced from a 55-year old Lodi vine- yard that is dry-farmed and head- pruned. The Carignane (8% of the blend) is also grown from old vines (40 years old), which provides bright fruit and richness to the blend. Old vines were chosen for their intensity of flavor and character. After crushing, the wine was aged in 1-2 year old American oak barrels for 13 months. Estrada Creek Old Vine Zinfandel features abundant cherry, blackberry and plum fruit that is offset by notes of black pepper and spice.

2010 California CHARDONNAY This Chardonnay was harvested from vines in Lodi, where the delta region provides a cooling balance to the region’s warm climate. The crushed grapes are fermented in stainless steel to dryness, after which the wine is moved to French and American oak barrels for 8 months. Estrada Creek Chardonnay has a bouquet of green apple, pear and citrus blossom, complemented by vanilla tones from nicely integrated oak. The aromas carry through the palate, where crisp acids marry with the fruit. 2009 California MERLOTOur Merlot is sourced from North Coast, where coastal influences lead to longer hangtime and greater flavor development. The wine is aged in French and American oak barrels for 9 months prior to bottling. Estrada Creek Merlot is noted for its black cherry, currant and blackberry fruit with toasty oak undertones, leading to a delightful, lingering finish. 2007 California SYRAHThis Syrah was sourced from select Central Coast vineyards. From soils of calcareous rock with low nutrients and high drainage, the vines are stressed to develop full flavored fruit. The grapes were cold- soaked for 3 days prior to crush. The wine was barrel-aged in small 1-2 year old French barrels for 12 months. Estrada Creek Syrah is a rich, full-bodied wine with lush blueberry, raspberry and black currant fruit. 2008 California SAUVIGNON BLANCThis Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from prime Napa Valley vineyards. To preserve the fresh fruit flavors, the wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel. Estrada Creek Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, floral wine with lemon and tangerine notes balanced by soft, herbal flavors that linger on the palate. |
